A Guide to Streamlining Your Lead Generation Process

We’ve made it easy to add leads to your Ecanvasser account. Follow these simple steps to quickly access and manage your leads directly within the software.

The Import Process

  1. Go to the "Map" page and toggle on the "Prospector Mode" option within your Toolbar. Here, you will see the total number of leads in your area.

  2. You must filter, zoom, or cut turf to proceed because you can only import up to 10,000 leads simultaneously.

  3. Once you’ve got your desired number of prospects, you can hit Import Leads, and a small pop-up at the bottom left will show you the progress of your import.

  4. Once your import is complete, you will have instant access to your new leads and several new data points that will be made available to you.

Monthly credits and how they reset every month

Your purchased credits reset each month, and a live counter shows how many credits you’ve used and how many remain, completely separate from your Ecanvasser database limit. This approach ensures you have a dependable, cost-effective solution to drive your outreach and sales efforts forward.

Can I purchase more credits/data?

If you have used all your credits within the current monthly period, you will need to wait until they reset.

However, you can contact our team to purchase additional credits.

Extra data is available in blocks of 10,000 leads per month for $99.

How is the credit system different from our database price plans?

The credit system for Prospector is separate from your Ecanvasser database limit. New users receive 100 complimentary lifetime credits to start, and purchased credits are used solely for accessing verified lead data via Prospector.

Quarterly Lead Data Refresh

Lead Prospector is updated every quarter with fresh and expanded lead data, including enhancements to existing records and the addition of new leads.

How to Access the Latest Leads

To ensure you are working with the most up-to-date and complete data:

  • Run a new import after each quarterly update.

  • This is required to:

    • Pull in any enhancements to your existing Prospector leads.

    • Access newly added leads that were not available in your original import.

⚠️ Updates will not automatically apply to previously imported Prospector leads. Running a fresh import is the only way to get the latest data.

Scheduling a Recurring Import Refresh

To ensure you automatically receive the latest Lead Prospector data each quarter, including new leads and any updates to existing ones, we recommend setting up a recurring import refresh.

Why This Matters

  • Lead Prospector updates roll out quarterly. However, updated data may become available at different points during the quarter.

  • By choosing a fixed import date each quarter, you guarantee that your import will capture the most complete dataset available, without needing to track the exact release date of new L2 leads.

How to Set It Up

  1. Choose a consistent date in each quarter to run your import—for example, the first Monday of the second month (e.g. February, May, August, November).

  2. Set a recurring calendar reminder (or your businesses planning and scheduling app) to initiate a fresh Lead Prospector import on that date.

  3. When importing, please make sure you're selecting the same filters or geographic areas to maintain consistency.

🔄 Tip: Even if the updated leads were released earlier or later in the quarter, importing on a predictable date ensures you always get the latest available data without missing anything.
