Linking your Nation with Ecanvasser

Linking NationBuilder, Map statuses, Import lists and contacts

We want to link your Nation to your Ecanvasser account to be as simple as possible. Follow these easy steps to get started.

Linking your NationBuilder account with Ecanvasser

  1. Go to the "App Store" page

  2. Click on the NationBuilder tile

3. Input your NationBuilder Slug, and click Save.

4. Input your NationBuilder login details:


Importing contacts and mapping fields

Now, that your nation is connected, you can:

  1. Map the statuses

  2. Import contacts from your NationBuilder lists.

1. Mapping interaction statuses

Click on "Map Statuses". Here you can map your statuses to your interaction statuses. Each card shows all the default statuses in, you can select an interaction status to map to your NationBuilder status:

2. Importing contacts from NationBuilder

  1. Once you have connected to your NationBuilder nation, any NationBuilder lists will automatically appear within your NationBuilder page within Ecanvasser. To import a specific list into your Ecanvasser account, select the down/up arrow icon next to a list and import the list with its contacts.

2. When your list has fully imported (ie the status says Completed), you have a number of options available:

  • Click the timer icon to re-sync the list (useful when you have added more contacts to your list in NationBuilder)

  • Click the circle & three dots icon to add contacts to a list

  • Click the trash icon to delete your List

Your imported contacts will show up on your "Database" page on your Ecanvasser account.

Further Notes:
Ecanvasser is based on houses rather than contacts.

If the addresses in your imported list are not complete they will not import into Ecanvasser!

NationBuilder customers should create both Custom Fields and Surveys within their NationBuilder account and then sync them with their Ecanvasser account.

Any updates that then occur in Ecanvasser will sync back with your NationBuilder if you have the "Send Updates to NationBuilder" option enabled:

Syncs will not occur to NationBuilder for any Survey or Custom Field that you create directly in your Ecanvasser account.
